Slap me soft - Queer version

Hitting and being hit or Impact play, isn’t a conventional context to look for softness and gentleness. Yet, this is precisely what we shall do. We will try to approach this Kuan and insist on staying in this Paradox: How could hitting someone, submitting myself to the blows of another – could become a gentle act of care?

We will be building towards a classic (face-slapping), through many approximations, intermediate steps and pauses. The approach proposed is slow, somatic and very much inspired by the Feldenkrais method.

Another arc of the workshop, meant to support the quality of care and softness, is engaging with others through physically holding/being held by them. Asking for someone to be big, so that I could be small, and inviting this big one to slap me, to take care of me, through hitting.
